Helpful guidance
The bulb decides how your woven lamp looks once it is switched on. A tightly woven rattan or esparto shade lets some light pass through the weave and turns the rest into warm shadow patterns on the wall, so the right bulb matters as much as the fixture itself. Most of our lamps and shades use a standard E27 socket, so the bulbs offered here fit almost every model.
LED bulbs suit natural fiber fixtures best - they use little energy, last for years and give off minimal heat, which matters for the weave. In our catalog you will find decorative LED bulbs with a visible filament: amber-glass Edison styles, retro spirals, smart WiFi bulbs and dimmable bulbs.
A bulb with a visible filament is the most scenic choice for a woven lamp. When the shade is pale and open, an amber-glass Edison bulb glows through it like a warm stone and turns the lamp into a visible accent even in daylight, before it is switched on. A retro spiral filament gives the same vintage feel with modern LED efficiency.
Edison-style bulbs work best in open or loosely woven shades where the filament is clearly visible - above a dining table, a bar counter or in a reading corner. Choose a warm tone in the 2200-2700 K range so the amber glow matches the color of the natural fibers instead of reading cold and clinical.
A smart WiFi bulb lets you adjust brightness and tone straight from your phone or by voice, without installing a separate dimmer. That is handy for woven ceiling and table lamps: set warm, low light for the evening, and brighter, more neutral light for reading or work.
If the lamp is wired to a wall dimmer, choose a bulb that is specifically dimmable - ordinary LED bulbs can flicker or buzz on a dimmer. Dimmed warm light is especially good at bringing out the texture of natural fibers and casting cozy shadow patterns in the bedroom and living room.
First check the socket size: most woven lamps use E27, while smaller table lamps and some wall lamps use E14. Judge brightness by lumens, not watts: 400-800 lm is plenty for cozy mood lighting, while 800-1100 lm suits reading or a work zone. A dense weave keeps some of the light inside the shade, so for a larger or tightly woven shade choose a bulb with a higher lumen count.
Color temperature sets the mood. 2200-2700 K gives warm, golden light that best complements rattan, esparto and palm fibers. It is best to avoid cooler, bluish bulbs in a natural-material interior, as they kill the warmth the weave creates.
LED bulbs are the best choice for woven shades precisely because they barely heat up. Avoid halogen bulbs and overly powerful bulbs in enclosed shades, since excess heat can dry out the natural fibers and make them brittle over time. Always follow the maximum wattage marked for the shade and never let the bulb press tightly against the weave.
Before changing a bulb, switch off the fixture and let the bulb cool. Clean the shade itself with a soft dry cloth or a low-suction vacuum brush. This is a catalog site - to order and see current prices, head to our shop at PitasLampas.lv.
