How much drop should you leave in a stairwell or over a table?
The drop is how low the lamp hangs. In a room with normal ceilings, leave at least 210 cm of clearance to the floor so people can walk under it freely. In a stairwell a long lamp can drop freely between floors, but its lowest point must sit at a safe height above the top steps.
